Your Jabez Prayer for 2014

1 Chronicles 4:9-10 says,

Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

We know very little about this man Jabez. From the Bible verse above we can see that he was considered honorable, his birth produced sorrow for his mother, he prayed, and God answered his prayer. But even within those few things we can receive a powerful yet simple message: No matter what your label is, where you’ve been or what you’ve done, God can meet you wherever you are and change your life forever!
